Regenerative Agriculture

Redbrae - Yeppoon, Queensland

Paul’s family own Redbrae, a cattle farm near the coast west of Yeppoon, Central Queensland. In November 2019 a deliberately lit fire south of the property burned right across Redbrae in 15 minutes. The fire, referred to as the Cobraball fire, was 14km long and 6km wide, and went on to burn over 6000 hectares of grazing and agricultural land, as well as extensive native bush. Most of the cattle on the property survived but extensive loss of fencing and yards, and complete loss of pasture, meant a long and costly wait for rains in the new year. The pastures and bush are recovering, and the fencing and yards are being reinstated. Paul is working with his parents in developing a master plan for designing and managing the property into the future.
