The Byron Bathhouse
The lanscape concept design for The Byron Bathhouse draws inspiration from the outward and inward effect of the ripple. Like gentle waves from distant storms our lives are affected by others in the same way our lives affect others. The pool is a pure circular form that becomes the energetic centre of the space, generating concentric rings of program and structure.
Further inspiration is drawn from Japanese Architect Tadao Ando and his work at Casa Wabi in Puerto Escondido (Hidden Port), Mexico. It inspires perspective, filter and purity. By filtering one’s own viewpoint we can manage the way we see the world. Chaos and clutter can be made to recede, giving way to a scene of calm and serenity.
